I’m not going to lie, we really dropped the ball on this one. A solid month and a half late and with little indication on our behalf it would ever come out, Issue 3 wasn’t exactly looking promising. It’s not been easy for us editors; uni life has been shockingly difficult, personal complications have gotten in the way… and yet they’re all just excuses.

Thankfully, Issue 3 is actually here, and you can read it right away. Head on over to our Issues/Other Content page to have a squiz. Don’t worry; we’ve streamlined our approach now, and reworked our team structure, and Issue 4 is going to be out right on time, bigger and better than ever.

Major thanks again goes to all our submitters – you’re the ones that make this magazine! Most of all, thanks to those who’ve put up with us thus far; there aren’t many of you, but we appreciate your support. Honestly. Truly. If we weren’t poor uni students, we’d even give you each a cookie. Alas…

We’ve still got room for some work in Issue 3 so get those submissions in quickly! Submissions for Issue 3 close on Feb 25th so finish you’re editing and get your stuff in to us!

Also we’re trying a new submission process like most other zines and journals where we will not be deciding on final pieces until submissions close so please don’t expect to know whether you are in straight away. With luck if you don’t make it into the issue you’ve submitted for we will include your piece in the next issue. We want to help you get out there!

It’s a little later than planned, but Issue Two is up and ready to go! Head on over to the Issues/Other Content section of the site to have a read. You can expect our next issue sometime around the end of February, if all goes to plan. Make sure to tell your friends about us – we’re always after fresh new writers and material!

In the next couple of days, we’ll be emailing the new issue to our mailing list/submitters for those that haven’t checked the website, along with posting a list of where we distribute hard copies of the ‘zine. Thanks guys, it’s been fun.

To anyone who is not aware, National Novel Writing Month takes place from the 1st of November to the 30th of November every year. The goal? Write a 50,000 word novel… all in the space of 30 days. It’s crazy, frustrating, sometimes depressing, but hey; that’s what writing’s all about, isn’t it?

Congratulations to anyone who took part, and even if you didn’t see it through to the end, everyone’s a winner in our eyes.

We were invited to speak on the show after they saw our flyer in the Inglewood library – whoever posted our flyers around, thank you!
