The Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize
Open in two categories: prize for best published adventure novel and a prize for best unpublished manuscript by a debut author. Closing 12th March.
Accepting fiction stories between 1,500 and 5,000 words – authors must be 21 years old or under. Closing 12th March.
Neo Perennial Press – Heroines Anthology
“Heroines will tell the tales of mythic women through old tales retold or reimagined, lost tales found, and stories newly born.” Accepting prose and short story submissions up to 5,000 words, and poetry can be of ‘any reasonable length’, but is limited to five poems per submission. Taking submissions until 15th March.
Sponsored by City of Fremantle, Fremantle Library, The West Australian and Fremantle Press. Accepted unpublished manuscripts by an unpublished Western Australian author for a work of adult fiction, narrative non-fiction or young adult fiction. Closing 16th March.

This prize seeks entries of 1,500-3,000 words of creative writing, including fiction, creative non-fiction, and short stories on any theme. Inspired by the theme ‘Drag, Voiceworks magazine is seeking pitches and pieces from writers under 25: nonfiction pitches are due 18th March, fiction, poetry and completed nonfiction are due 1st April, and art and comics pitches are due 29th April.
